Snow Hill Primary School is offering Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) integrated learning in K-1. Students regularly learn through various collaborative methods with clearly defined individual and team expectations in the program during the year. Teachers promote collaboration throughout instructional tasks. The tiered system of Jr. Challenges, Science Kits, and Canvas STEM-Repository tasks maximize student-centered learning opportunities in each STEM classroom. The Engineering Design Process provides the structure students use to guide the development of their final product. Students work as a team to complete a Jr. Challenge. Students must work through templates that promote research, blueprinting, technology presentation, materials collection, and design components to complete their collaborative product.
